These are some things to remember when negotiating rates for photography for regional newspapers. And please send us your accounts of successful negotiations.
- The rates suggested are for limited licences: each extra use of any photo licensed attracts an extra fee;
- The suggested rates are minima from which freelances negotiate upward according to the value of the work; and
- Freelances who are registered for VAT will add it to every invoice.
These rates are far from being recommendations: they are based on the least unreasonable going rates.
