THE UK government's Creative Industries Forum Intellectual Property Group - from which the unions were rather bluntly excluded - has come up with an interesting idea to popularise the notion of copyright: schoolchildren should be encouraged to use the © symbol on their work.

Then they'll respect the music industry and not swap pirated music recordings, apparently. Nor, we think, will they sign stupid and exploitative deals when they form bands. Well done!
