CORBIS, Bill Gates's photo agency, decided to hold its cancelled press conference at the Perpignan photography event after all (see last issue). Its representatives left before any of the very angry photographers present could formulate appropriate questions.

Efforts to hold constructive talks over the contracts Corbis is offering photographers continue. They are not assisted by the continuing executive exodus: three senior people have now, the Freelance understands, left the Sygma agency in Paris following its acquisition by Corbis. More news, later.
