Strike hardship? Get thee to Chapel!
The union has agreed new guidelines for members - staff and freelance - who
experience hardship as a result of strikes. Anyone who has bills they can't
pay, or other financial troubles as a result of a strike, must tell the
chapel. The chapel will go through the cases with the organiser a couple of
weeks after the dispute is over and make payments where necessary.
If you work somewhere where there is a strike coming up, make sure you are
in touch with the chapel. They will appreciate it if you are unavailable for
work when they're on strike. Tell them if you turn down work, and ask for
hardship money if you need it.
