Sports subs have something new to grapple with: Sports Markup Language. It's a bit like the Web language HTML (HyperText Markup Language) or, for older readers, ATEX - except that instead of marking words as bold or itals, you mark them by meaning: <action-soccer-foul> for example. Which makes automatically re-purposing text for Star Trek communicators or internet-connected fridges or whatever almost trivially easy... so watch out sports writers. Details:
