What structure?

Do the NUJ's internal structures reflect its membership? The union's Development Committee is asking this question as it prepares a discussion paper to take to next year's NUJ conference in Belfast. Currently the union is organised in chapels (based around a workplace) and geographical branches, and in sectors, represented by industrial councils (such as new media, newspapers and agencies, broadcast, disabled members). Would a change in union structure make the union more democratic? Please send your thoughts - email structure@nuj.org.uk - the deadline is 14 December
