The Trireme and The Gong joint award

The Trireme / The Gong

This month the Trireme Award - for "the worst rates since I was last chained to the oars" - hosts a joint award ceremony with The Gong, awarded for late payment beyond the call of accounting duty. And the dishonour goes to DC Thomson's My Weekly. In exchange for First British Serial rights, they paid one Branch member the princely sum of £75 for 2000 words, and the money eventually arrived after more than three months.
