SEVEN YEARS after Sunday World journalist Martin O'Hagan was killed in front of his wife near his home in Lurgan - and after a concerted campaign for the whole of that time by the NUJ to ensure a proper investigation - two men, Neil Hyde and Nigel Leckey, have been charged with the murder. Two more, Robin King and Mark Kennedy, have been charged in connection with the disposal or concealment of the getaway car. The Freelance has no more information on the "Loyalist terrorist" reported by the Observer to have fled - bizarrely, to the Republic of Ireland - to evade arrest. Martin, pictured above on the Belfast May Day rally in 2001, was Secretary of Belfast and District Branch of the NUJ and well-known for his courageous coverage of criminal activity by sometime paramilitaries.
