Do you remember the Wapping dispute?

There’s a public meeting on the history of News international dispute at “Fortress Wapping“ (1986-87), and its effects, on Thursday 26 February at Toynbee Hall, 28 Commercial St, EC1 (nearest Tube Aldgate East: map) ).

Speakers include historian Andy Walpole, Jeremy Corbyn MP (Lab, Islington North) and former print workers involved in the dispute. It starts at 6.30, and details are at Hidden Histories. Organisers Tonybee Hall and Eastside Community Heritage are keen for those who were involved in the dispute as strikers, supporters or local trade unionists to come along to the meeting, and to contact on Rosa Vilbr.
