New ways conference - full
The New Ways to Make Journalism Pay conference on Saturday 16 January 2010 is now full. To check for "no-show" places, email pamelam@nuj.org.uk
Fire regulations mean that, if you do show up for the conference on the day without having registered in advance, the staff and volunteers at Headland House will have no choice but to refuse you admission.
Meanwhile, we've heard that the journalism school at Goldsmiths, University of London now teach "entrepreneurial skills" - the business side of running a newspaper, including advertising sales, to their students. Goldsmiths students have started up and now manage online newspaper EastLondonLines.co.uk as part of their course, and will hand it over to the following year's intake of students to run as a social enterprise.
