Stockholm syndrome

Freelances arguing with publishers and broadcasters that demand rights to use our work forever for one fee may be encouraged by the example of the Swedish public broadcaster, which told others that if they wanted to repeat its footage of a royal wedding there, they'd have to pay repeat fees after 48 hours.

This, however, led agencies AFP, AP and Reuters to boycott the wedding - and the broadcaster's head, Eva Hamilton, to protest the slight to Sweden.
