Meet the Met about the Olympics

THE METROPOLITAN police at the beginning of the year approached the National Union of Journalists suggesting a meeting to brief journalists on arrangements for covering the Olympics.

The meeting, also open to journalists who are not NUJ members, will take place on Wednesday 11 April at Friends House, Euston Road, London WC1 - nearest Tubes Euston and Euston Square. It's from 6pm to 7:30pm.

Chris Allison, Assistant Commissioner with the Metropolitan Police, and some of his senior colleagues will give a talk on their plans for policing the event. There will be opportunities for questions from the floor.

The event is being organised by the NUJ's Freelance Office and London Freelance Branch. If you wish to attend, please contact the Freelance Office.
