NPA launches collection scheme

THE NEWSPAPER Publishers' Association has launched a body to collect payments from companies and libraries for photocopying newspaper articles. News International, interestingly, is staying away.

The NUJ immediately wrote to ask how the member newspapers expected to deal with freelance contributions, when they have not bought the right to re-sell them in this fashion. No response had been received at press time.
