![]() Dim view on Northern LightTHE NATIONAL Writers Union in the USA is launching a grievance against the Northern Light internet press cutting service. The NWU, which organises 5000 freelances in the US, complains that Northern Light offers to sell articles by members when it has no right to do so. Northern Light so far refers complaints to the "database aggregators" -- companies which gather up articles from individual publishers and supply them to online services. Northern Light sells articles to individual users for 50 cents a page or more, however. You can check whether your articles are being syndicated by selecting "Special Collection" search on the NL web page at www.northernlight.com. Don't just look for your name -- also search for unique phrases out of your articles. Then contact www.nwu.org.
