The BBC provides work for more freelance journalists than any other organisation in the country. They work in a variety of ways and under a variety of terms and conditions. The NUJ has decided to conduct a survey to discover: a) how many of our members work for the BBC; b) which parts of the BBC they work for (including print or the web); c) what they are paid and what terms and conditions apply.
The questionnaire has already gone to members who are listed as freelances and who are on the mailing list for Freelance newsletter. We realise, though, that there are members who have worked for the Corporation for a lengthy period on a self-employed basis. In other words, you might actually be a freelance even although you do not think of yourself in that way.
If you fit the above description, or some other description that involves working for the BBC without a contract of employment, please help us by completing the questionnaire.
This is an important survey, and we need YOU to tell us right now what work you do for the Beeb. Please respond right away, before this goes into your piling system. You can fill in the form below, email freelanceoffice@nuj.org.uk or fax us on 020 7278 1812.
