From here to indemnity

HAVE YOU been the lucky recipient of one of those "contracts" in which you're supposed to agree to "indemnify" the Publisher against all costs arising from any legal action? In particular, was it one of those humdingers where the Publisher reserves the right to change your work, and wants you to pay the costs of lawsuits arising out of their messing about?

Of course you didn't sign it. So it's still around somewhere. And now the NUJ wants a copy of it. The last Annual Delegate Meeting agreed on a campaign to reform the laws of defamation, and stupid documents like these will be useful ammunition. Send them to John Toner at Head Office, please.
