Action blooms in Spalding

THE PICKET at the Spalding Guardian on Saturday 1 June was a great success. Journalists were joined by friends, family and two representatives of London Freelance Branch - Chair Phil Sutcliffe (left) and Freelance editor Mike Holderness (false beard) are pictured with Mother of Chapel Suzanne Roberts. The dispute, over the dismally familiar issue of apallingly low pay by (in this case) Johnston Press, was due to continue with a week's strike. For updated information see here.
