NINE intrepid photographers visited the Metropolitan Police Public Order training establishment in Hounslow in July, to develop ideas on reporting such things without obstructing the police or - crucially - vice versa. And what did we find but a commercial training company's idea of the hack of the future - above.

Best line of the day was from a fledgling Inspector: "Like the fire and ambulance services, journalists are at events independently with a job to do."

Discussions continue on how to get this wisdom generally applied.
