Reinstate Mark

IF YOU have the equipment can you please fax a polite protest to Doug Melloy, editor of the Rotherham Advertiser, on 01709 515364 (from outside the UK it is +44 1709 515364) asking for the re-instatement of NUJ rep Mark Lindsey.

Mark was one of the negotiators who helped secure rises of up to 12 percent in the wake of a summer's strike over low pay. But a couple of weeks after the dispute ended Mark was selected for redundancy without anyone else being considered for the chop.

In a secret ballot 100 percent of those taking part have voted for a strike in support of Mark. The union's national executive emergency committee has backed the dispute.
