CENTURION, for whom I did work in January and who had still not paid by May, have now coughed up the basic amount of £450 plus £6.65 interest and £40 compensation for late payment.

I sent them a reminder invoice, and a separate one for the interest and compensation. I did not itemise how I had calculated it, but simply referred them to the London Freelance Branch  website. The cheque arrived a week later.

So thanks for the online ready reckoner. I don't know whether I would have got around to calculating it otherwise. It's worth persevering with late payers, everyone.
