Resolution of Telegraph Dispute
The National Union of Journalists has successfully concluded negotiations with management at the Belfast Telegraph.
As a result of this outcome the union has confirmed to the company that the threat of industrial action has been withdrawn. In a statement the Irish Organiser Des Fagan said: "Following local negotiations, proposals to improve the original management offer were accepted. The proposals include additional holidays and a further editorial pay review in addition to the 3% increase".
Mr. Fagan paid tribute to the determined stand taken by the chapel and acknowledged the widespread support given to the 48-hour work stoppage which led to a breakthrough in the talks.
