Owner Northcliffe plans a move so hoary it rivals the world's oldest tree. Its more than £100 million profit in the last year obviously leaves the Rothermeres and other shareholders desperately poor. So it's threatening 36 job cuts among journalists on the Bristol Evening Post and Western Daily Press - on top of the 20 posts already cut from the Evening Post and Bristol Observer weekly series earlier this year.
