Bye-bye dodgy cheques!
A cheque just arrived from Haymarket - and see there's no endorsement needed, no illegal claim that cashing the cheque imposes an assignment of rights. Wow!
My guess is that they have finally used up their stationery stocks of the old-style, discredited versions - having been too cost-conscious to ditch them even though they didn't mean anything. But does anyone have another analysis? Does it signify a change of policy? I also heard that the titles I write for - Young People Now and Children Now - are to stop sending out confirmation sheets. Anyone else heard this?
