The Gong - Time Out

This month's Gong award - a wake-up call for late payers - goes to London listings magazine Time Out. A member wrote a piece for their Books section and sent an invoice for £176.25 on 18 October, including the notice "Terms: strictly 30 days from date of invoice".

Numerous calls followed, after which said freelance got to know the people in accounts much better than their commissioning editor. The money finally arrived in the member's account on 26 January, which is, strictly speaking, within 99 days of invoicing.
