The Trireme

Roll up! Roll up! The Trireme Award this month goes to World's Fair, the weekly newspaper for travelling showmen and the funfairs industry. It pays 26p for one column centimetre of copy - which works out at less than £17.50 per thousand words. The Award originated from a passing remark from a member: "These terms are the worst since I was last chained to the oars...".
