Claim from Irish libraries now
BOOK AUTHORS resident in Britain are now eligible to claim Irish Public Lending
Right. Those already registered for PLR in the UK will have been notified of
this. PLR pays a few pence each time a book is borrowed from a library, to compensate for
the copies that would otherwise have been sold. It is payable to authors, whatever
the terms of your contract with your publisher.
The deadline for the 2009 payout passed in December. However, authors who missed out or who want
to claim Irish PLR in future should contact the PLR office in Stockton-on-Tees: www.plr.uk.com
