Day of inaction
There will be an unoffical "day of inaction" in response to plummeting freelance rates on Maundy Thursday (Thursday 1 April this year), to mark the now vanished day-off for journalists in the Olden Days that used to fall on the day before Good Friday. Co-hosted by 'book-shaped magazine thing' The Idler and journalists' blog The Gentlemen Ranters, the day of inaction involves whiling away an afternoon with "convivial protest" in the pub - The Harrow, 22 Whitefriars, London EC4, nearest Tube Blackfriars. Kick-off, or whatever, is at 12:30 and all journalists are welcome.
