March for May Day

There will be an NUJ contingent on the May Day trade union march, rallying at London's Clerkenwell Green at noon before heading to Trafalgar Square. Come and join in!

The Metropolitan Police have given the NUJ a phone number for journalists to contact: Any journalist who experiences problems with policing should call 07 917 556 824. Sam Harris of the Met's Press Bureau will take calls and offer assistance.

Said Freelance Organiser John Toner: "We sincerely hope journalists covering May Day will encounter no problems, but we welcome this move by The Met."

Journalists will also be able to follow The Met on Twitter for the first time.
