Strikes in Scarborough, Whitby & Filey

Journalists at the Scarborough Evening News, the Filey Mercury and the Whitby Gazette will strike tomorrow (30 April) to defend jobs and standards of journalism while their Johnston Press Group management attempts to force the introduction of the Atex content management system which threatens to make many of its newspapers a laughing stock.

Any freelances engaged to work for these titles on the day may consider whether they find themselves unavailable. Any who suffer hardship while being unavailable should contact the Chapels.
