The Gong - History Today

This month's Gong, a wake-up call to late payers, goes to History Today magazine (History Today Ltd). Payment to an LFB member for work commissioned by HT but not used took over six months after the date of the invoice to materialise.

Always challenge "payment on publication" contracts if you are able, and ask what happens if publication is postponed - or endlessly postponed, as in this case. Guidance on compensation for late payments is at www.londonfreelance .org/interest.html
