How UK Uncut happened
In a short space of time, grassroots campaign group UK Uncut has brought the issue of tax avoidance to the public's attention with high profile, well-attended protests outside and inside high street shops.
One of the group's founders Jonnie Marbles will be the guest speaker at the next Press and PR branch meeting on Wednesday 2 March to talk about how they have used social media to organise and co-ordinate campaigns across the UK, and how they have attracted traditional, mainstream media interest.
The presentation at NUJ headquarters in King's Cross is open to all NUJ members and will start at 7pm, following the branch's short meeting for business from 6.30pm. There will be plenty of time for questions before an 8.30pm finish.
We ask that members register their interest in attending with me on jonesbsian@yahoo.co.uk
