Stand up for journalism - for freelances!

The European Federation of Journalists has set the theme for this year's annual Stand Up for Journalism day as defending the rights of freelances.

The EFJ is a confederation of trades unions, a section of the International Federation of Journalists, and the NUJ is an active member. Unions throughout geographical Europe are planning events for Friday 4 and Saturday 5 November.

Your suggestions for events in the UK and Ireland are welcome: ideally send them before the NUJ's Freelance Council meets on Tuesday 20 September.
