The Trireme - unnamed small music mag
This month's Trireme Award,
for "the worst terms since I
was last chained to the oars,"
in the words of one freelance,
is a retro 1980s-style summer
special. It goes to an unnamed
"small music mag, part staffowned
and in the business for
at least three decades". (It's
not too hard for a journalist
to look them up, given that
information!)
In any event,
they pay the princely sum of
£40 for a 300-word review,
around 13p a word, a "rate
unchanged for 30 years." As
our freelance contributor
commmented, "XXXX".
