Iran, and the future of the media

THERE ARE two upcoming events around journalism at Goldsmiths, University of London's Department of Media, Communication and Cultural Studies. Both are open to all. They're hosted by LFB's own Rashmee Roshan Lall, who teaches there.

Both events are on a Thursday evening as part of Goldsmiths' Media Forum season. Both are from 5.30-7pm in the Professor Stuart Hall Building, Goldsmiths, University of London, New Cross, London, SE14 6NW.

"Iran, what happens next" is on Thursday 20 October. It features a panel discussion on the unprecedented wave of protest currently rolling across Iran.

Speakers include Negin Shiraghaei, formerly BBC Persian and co-founder of March Health; Nazenin Ansari, managing editor of Kayhan-London and Kayhan-Life publications and Dr Gholam Khiabany of the Department of Media, Communications and Cultural Studies at Goldsmiths. Details are here.

On Thursday 27 October there is a book launch to celebrate the publication of The Future of Media, co-written by members of the Goldsmiths' Department of Media.

The event will start with a roundtable discussion on the future of media, featuring many of the contributors to the book, followed by a drinks reception. Details are here.
