NUJ remembers Dom Phillips

The NUJ is holding an exhibition in memory of London Freelance Branch member Dom Phillips, who was killed in June while researching a book in the Brazilian Amazon - alongside Bruno Pereira, a former official with the country's Indian Affairs department.

It's open from 18 to 20 January at NUJ headquarters on London's Gray's Inn Road.

And on Thursday 19 January there's a discussion with exhibition organiser Fiona Frank from Halton Mill and Domonique Davies, Dom's niece and co-creator of the For Dom, Bruno & the Amazon exhibition. Dr Jamille Pinheiro Dias, lecturer in environmental humanities at the School of Advanced Study, University of London, and Jim Boumelha, chair of the NUJ's policy committee, are also due to speak. Plans by London Freelance Branch to press the government of Brazil to ensure a thorough investigation were put on hold by the country's cliff-hanger general election - the result of which shoould make such an investigation far more likely.
