What’s DM? Your quick guide to Delegate Meeting 2023
THE NEXT biennial Delegate Meeting of the NUJ takes place in London on 28-29 April. "DM", as it is commonly abbreviated, is the Union's conference where policy, objectives and campaigning priorities are decided democratically.
The driving force behind DM is at Branch level. All NUJ Branches can submit motions and amendments to DM, to be debated and voted on by delegates, who themselves are elected by the Branches. If a motion is passed, it becomes Union policy. London Freelance Branch has submitted motions and amendments to this year's DM, and the nine-strong Branch delegation will also be voting on motions proposed by other bodies. LFB members can decide how our delegates should vote by discussing important DM motions at the next Branch meeting on 17 April. Join us for the chance to influence Union policy for the next two years!
The conference agenda and biennial report are available to download from the NUJ website: log in to www.nuj.org.uk and search for Delegate Meeting 2023 and see the links below.
