Two important surveys
THE NUJ is encouraging members to join in survey of freelances that's organised by the Authors' Licening and Collecting Society (ALCS) and the CREATe Research Centre at the University of Glasgow.
NUJ General Secretary Michelle Stanistreet writes: "Your views on earnings, contract negotiations and licensing agreements are crucial to understanding how freelances can be best supported now and into the future."
The survey should take you about 10-15 minutes to complete. After completing it, you'll be eligible to enter a prize draw to win one of five cash prizes of £50 each.
Take the survey here.
The closing date for the prize draw is Monday 25 September.
And for visual creators...
Meanwhile the Design and Artists Copyright Society (DACS) wants to hear from photoographers, artists and illustrators:
- how you may be using AI in your work, either as an artist or an artists’ representative
- how AI may already be impacting your practice and livelihood,
- whether there are concerns within the artistic community about AI, and
- where there may be need for improvements in access, for example through training and professional development.
Please, photographers and illustrators, take the DACS survey here. It closes on Monday 2 October.
