Are you a young journalist, full-time resident in the UK, studying for a journalism qualification or starting out on your journalism career? Can you follow George Orwell's six rules for writing?.

If so, you could enter The Orwell Society / NUJ Young Journalists' Award 2024, which offers prizes of £1000 in each of two categories. The runner-up in each category will receive £500.

In addition, winners receive memberships of The Orwell Society and NUJ.

The deadline for applications is midnight on Sunday 7 April 2024.
