Training for freelance journalists

BY POPULAR request, we're running the course on Carbon Literacy for journalists and communicators - tucked in between COP28 and Christmas. It's all online, split into solo and group sessions - but all interactive.

Course tutor Dr Suzy Arnott says: "It's not about climate guilt or grief - it's about understanding the greenhouse effect, footprinting, Scopes etc. is more and more important for media professionals."

Scheduled group sessions are on Wednesday 13 December and Monday 18 December. They run from 14:00 to 17:00 (GMT), with an hour's solo work to complete in advance of each.

Please go straight to registration here: bit.ly/CLTring2. The fee is £50 - reduced for UCU and NUJ members, and this includes certification.

Inquire of the Branch Secretary if you need further financial support to take this course. The Freelance is not currently sure whether the Branch policy of supporting members who need it applies to this.
