Solidarity with striking journalists - at STV

JOURNALISTS in Scottish Television (STV) will strike again on Wednesday 1 May over pay. Nick McGowan-Lowe, national organiser, said: "While the company showed willingness to engage with us to find a resolution to this dispute, it is disappointing that once again our journalists are having to head out of the newsrooms and into the shareholder AGM to find out answers to resolve this dispute."

Freelances have no right to strike in UK law, but they may find themselves unavailable if offered shifts on days when NUJ members are on strike.

Any NUJ freelance who suffers a loss of income as a result of turning down shifts offered during a strike should contact the NUJ Chapel (workplace-based unit of NUJ organisation) for that media group.
