Meet an editor and put your questions
The LFB Pitching Clinics
BRANCH MEMBERS asked for ways to engage directly with an editor and to seek guidance on pitching techniques and networking strategies. So we introduced our Pitching Clinics. We invite you to join us and take advantage of this invaluable opportunity. We will probably hold some more general "coffee mornings" as well: see a writeup of a sample event here.
Force-reload this page for details of further events and also check our meetings page.

Here, I pitch at you: Erin Jones-Wesley was Big West Conference softball Pitcher of the Week, April 11-17, 2011
If you are a member of the Branch and we have your email address, you should get an invitation in email a couple of days beforehand. If you do not, please contact pitching@londonfreelance.org
Recent events include:
- How to pitch investigative reporters, with former Guardian senior crime reporter Duncan Campbell, on 26 July.
- How to pitch money and personal finance stories - 19 July
- How to work with international clients - 28 June
- Virtual coffee with the President: NUJ President, freelance photographer Natasha Hirst. She talked about safety covering demonstration and gave an introduction to freelancing, not least for staff who have faced redundancy and became freelance. Writeup here.
- Taj Ali, co-editor at Tribune (@tribunemagazine), which specialises in coverage of trade unions and workers’ rights, who gave members advice on 31 May.
If you have any specific topics or questions that you would like to address during the discussion, please email us. We will do our best to incorporate them into the agenda.
If you have any questions or need more information, please do not hesitate to contact Mariam Elsayeh, LFB Training Officer
