As part of generally tightening security in London, police are increasingly taking the trouble to check the validity of press cards by asking for holders' PINs. And there have been mutterings, again, about a separate vetted card for access to Westminster: Tim Gopsill, NUJ representative on the joint "gatekeepers' committee" that administers the Press Card, says it is vigorously opposed to this idea.
