A virtual acquaintance of the Freelance reports receiving this message: "We have received an offensive hate email from your email address... possibly it is not from you yourself but from a child in the family? May I ask you to refrain from either sending such material or allowing others to use your email account for what is, after all, a criminal offence?"
And what could have prompted this message from Paul Spencer, Investigator (Central London) with the BBC Investigation Service?
They'd told Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles that "A scab is a two-legged animal with a corkscrew soul, a waterlogged brain, and a combination backbone made of jelly and glue. Where others have hearts he carries a tumour of rotten principles. ..."
That'll be the description famously attributed to author Jack London.
