South London Guardian on strike
NUJ Members who work for the South London Guardian series at their offices at Morden and Croydon are taking industrial action over pay on 25-27 July inclusive. They want London weighting and an increase on the three per cent currently offered.
As always, if you are a freelance journalist the Chapel would much appreciate it if you found yourself unavailable to supply any stories or photographs to the papers affected during walkouts. If you suffer hardship while being unavailable, contact the Chapel.
Contact Don Mackglew, Assistant Organiser (newspapers) for more.
Meanwhile, Trinity Mirror journalists in Coventry are continuing their industrial action over low pay.
And members at the Sheffield Star have balloted for industrial action - this time over reduced staffing levels, unfilled vacancied and consequent overwork. They are due to decide what action on 27 July.
