Those who can do also teach

NUJ members who also teach journalism or media studies and have dual membership with a teaching union have a new three-letter acronym to remember after 1 June. That's the date college lecturers' union NATFHE and university lecturers' union AUT merge to form the new University and College Union (UCU). A new subs system to cover the proportion of dual membership subs currently paid to AUT or NATFHE will be phased in over three years - dual members will be mailed for their earnings data.

NATFHE's bi-monthly magazine The Lecturer ceases after May, to be replaced by a quarterly publication - no title yet. Policies, websites, helplines and members' insurance services will merge over the next year.
