Coventry strike averted

JOURNALISTS at the the Coventry Telegraph voted to strike on 5 November - but on 26 October the chapel agreed to call off the action in return for getting: two current vacancies being filled immediately; an additional specialist business reporter; an additional district reporter; an additional trainee; and a freelance sub to be hired to cope with the heavy Friday workload.

The chapel extends its thanks to freelances for being prepared to assist the chapel in its action.
