Freedom for Belarus

THE EXILED Journalists Network (EJN) invites freelances to its seminar on "Censorship, State Restrictions and Democracy in Belarus". This follows the recent election in that country, which gave the governing party every seat, but "fell short of democracy" according to international election monitors.

There were speakers from the Belarus Association of Journalists, Belarussian newspaper Novy Chas, the Council of Europe and the International Federation of Journalists. The event is on Wednesday 8 October, from 9:30 am to 12 noon in Committee Room 2 at House of Lords.
