We'll meet hybridly again

LONDON FREELANCE Branch will prolong the current hybrid setup for its monthly Branch member meetings, following two successful trials using the facilities at NUJ's London HQ at 72 Acton Street. This allows members to attend in-person, as per the pre-Covid era, while enabling others to participate remotely - but fully, in real time - via Zoom.

The November meeting was one of the best attended of the year, and was also one of the busiest and most engaged due to members' desire to discuss with freelance colleagues the big issues facing them at the moment: the threat of AI, copyright, fake news and, of course, solidarity with journalists caught up in the Israel-Palestine war.

Motions and discussion topics that could not be dealt with on this occasion - there is a strict two-hour limit to Branch member meetings - will be tackled at the next formal meeting of LFB on 8 January 2024, the Branch AGM, starting at 6.30pm - see here and the Branch calendar.

Those who have yet to attend in person may wish to note that sandwiches and refreshments are provided for those all those who do make the effort...
