Dom Phillips’ book completed
THE BOOK that Branch member Dom Phillips was working on when he was murdered in the Amazon in June 2022, alongside indigenous expert Bruno Pereira – How to save the Amazon – has been completed by a group of journalists.
They include his friend Jonathan Watts, who told the Columbia Journalism Review “I was inspired by Forbidden Stories, which has done several projects where they have followed up on the work of a journalist who had been killed. The idea is that, even if you kill a journalist, you can’t silence the story.”
How to Save the Amazon: a journalist’s deadly quest for answers is published by Bonnier at £22 (ISBN 978-1786581839).
Also, the exhibition For Dom, Bruno and the Amazon is at Halton Mill, Mill Lane, Lancaster LA2 6ND. It's open until 2 September.
