NUJ Awards & Sponsorship

The National Union of Journalists has a strong interest in promoting free, high-quality and representative media. One way of doing this is by supporting awards and sponsorship schemes.

At present we can offer information here on:

• The annual Felix Dearden prize for journalism students from a Black or ethnic minority background and the winning 1999 Felix Dearden essay
• Information on the George Viner Memorial Fund Trust which offers sponsorship to Black journalism students on industry-recognised, pre-entry courses

The Anne Bolt Awards for young photographers were made in 1998, 1999 and 2000 and the project is now completed.
